Father, you came to her that night

words – dream-scrambled, unrecalled

apart from melody of ending, from beyond

all opening of death

“Now I am biting the void,” you said,

“Now I am biting the void.”

and so we became sisters, the void and I.

In laughter and dance,

swirling in mockery of life and love

believing in himself too much

shaking and trembling in his rhythms

as if we could empty them all-

laughing at Eden, because that promised,

ever-so-fertile land

has blood-stained walls.

So here we dance, oh kinder king,

Embracing voidity naked, and finding ourselves

frontier-less, nothing,

allowing creation itself.

Indeed, God himself asked space

to twitch his face and

laugh at pure reflection.

Come to me void, my oldest love,

– let me dissipate

and expand through you,

walking through those holy walls dividing

what is and what is not

Let me welcome the night and the promise

of becoming

…or not.

Dance with me void, through me, in me

until infinity itself collapses

and we go behind

the first point

of life expanding,

forever abandoning itself,

as being confused in unbeing

sprays gray space of arriving

bliss.

I AM HERE, opening the windows of  life and beauty. A new book for a new generation by Georgi Y. Johnson.

At the center of our physical form, in the area behind the sternum, there is a treasure house of qualities which in an exquisite synergy, expresses the pure individuality of what you have at this moment to express in the world.

This formation is specific to this life-time, or to this period of time. It is an exquisite composition of the living aspects of you in creation right now, drawing in both the eternal and the genetically possible at any given moment. To experience this essence is at first similar to blending with an all-powerful, ecstatic sun.

Charged with the love of the heart dimension and exuding the atmosphere of your unique presence, this essence of you is what you are here to express. It is an individually transient configuration from a universal well of infinite qualities.

Like a sun, it blazes outwards as a gift towards humanity and to the creative dimensions of the universe. The more the Witness is able to stand within this core of essential being, the more it too evolves.

In a way, this essential core is the powerful fire of purpose which is part of the reason for our personal incarnation.

Why can it seem so hard yet so attractive to follow the NIKE command: Just do it?

There are quite a few layers of suffering around essence – reasons for not going there – which in a way divide us (the Witness) from ourselves (Essence). This can include layers of depression, self-rejection or disgust at cruelty. Precisely these areas of experience are gold when we invite them into our awareness. We are on the way to our sacred home in the physical dimension.

All those wounds stand in potency at the roots of surface manifestations, as reasons to divide our awareness from our essential purpose. They are bound together in form by the excuses we carry for not being who we need to be. They are encased with energetic steel in these structures called our beliefs. Indeed, when consciousness hooks into mental explanations for these layers of suffering, our prison can seem more like a moated fortress guarded by demons.

Essence is partially blind in that its need, like a sun, is to shine. It shines unconditionally – on the whole show. It is beauty itself, and it opens the doors of perception to beauty in all dimensions.

In the essential dimension, beauty will always find itself.

Now is the time to open the inner windows of perception and to allow the bliss, ecstasy and passion of creation.

I AM HERE, opening the windows of  life and beauty.

A new book for a new generation by Georgina Yael Johnson.

I

The powerful wakefulness of consciousness allows, generates, penetrates and releases experience. This is the blissful light of awakening through which we can witness all things, even consciousness itself.

Consciousness can divide and multiply, and it can focus. It is a protector, a teacher, a gatekeeper and that which surrenders all that magnificent control and freedom to aspects greater than itself.

Through our consciousness, we can enter the stillness of silence and become blessed with the universal presence of peace.

AM

The inclusive plain of awareness that softens, accepts, blesses and blends with the miracle of phenomenon, allowing all polarity at the junction of heaven and earth and of one soul with others.

It is the carrier of unconditional love and can open ecstasy. It blows over and through space and form. It flows with rivers of life through the rifts inherent in creation. It is the harbinger of unity, a nurturer of  the essence, the vehicle of empathy and the destiny of compassion.

Through our awareness, we can reside in the stillness of being, suffused with the sanctity of universal love.

HERE

Containing it all, perception through emptiness is the source of inherent liberation from experience. It is present in the space between and within each atom and particle. It is the infinite backdrop of physical form. Moving with a skill to disillusion, it brings a clear sight that perceives the universal backdrop to every miracle of creation and destruction.

Within the dimension of emptiness, all transient form is empowered with the fullest right to exist. Perceiving through and beyond all things, emptiness opens a passion of service to life itself.

Through emptiness, we can access the stillness of eternity and find infinite strength in the universal fact of unity.

Once a year in Israel, at 11:00am on holocaust memorial day, an air raid siren sounds from North to South and East to West of the country. Each individual, every community, every radio and TV channel, every school and every car on every street and highway comes to a halt and the nation stands for the duration of the siren in silence.

It is a great sonic arousal – as the pitch, beginning low and almost beyond hearing rises up with a tremendous spirit of awakening and impending danger, to an alert high-pitched crescendo and one constant, sustained note.

Standing in ceremonies in high schools and witnessing the faces of the young children standing still in formation beneath the infinite blue sky, as the sound of the siren hauntingly impacts us all, and the awareness spreads to a whole nation of individuals standing to attention, it is an experience held together on the sustained top note the siren that each year brings tears to the eyes.

The impact is not only of the “re-membering” (reuniting with the whole) of the raw and still open wound of sheer horror, pain and grief inflicted by the holocaust on the ancestors of these people.

It is in the reallowance of that horror existing as a live energy in the now – as something alive and present (albeit often in the background under swabs of repression and denial) in the collective psychology of the country. The ritual is a pure, real time, unified empowerment of the collective state of the people. Nothing is more enlivening than the shock of our own mortality.

In the ascending scream of the siren, from the basis through the whole energy system, through the emptiness, awareness and consciousness and upwards to a converging point in the sky, 6 million people come together in a place of collective consciousness – a consciousness of what was – of the horrific episode in Jewish history which forms the cultural psychology to this day. This collective identity has been created by group consciousness and is maintained by the consciousness of a nation.

This moment of shared awakening to collective consciousness is later dressed in thoughts, beliefs and stories, each sub-unit according to its own agenda. Yet this is a powerful ritual, affirming a national consciousness through a direct anchor – the remembering of an event which has played a tremendous causal role in the state of Israel today.

When a nation stands together, we see a powerful formation and reformation of group consciousness. As with nations, so it is with religions which also mark out time and create unity through sacred ritual.

We also see the formation of group consciousness within individual tribes, schools of spirituality, football fans, bridge groups and family units, to name a few. Our leaders know this and they seek out the opportunity to boost national consciousness – through the cultivation of events in time such as the Olympics or a royal wedding.

It is a beautiful movement towards togetherness, yet it excludes a deeper unity as group consciousness is most often dependent on either exclusion, recruitment or both.

The persuasive and seductive power of marketing uses the tools of group consciousness through seductive messages and the establishment of landmarks in time. The more successful the marketing, the stronger the polarizing effect: you either are “luvin’” Macdonalds or hating it. Ironically, the latest marketing campaign of Marlboro comes under the banner “Just Be.”

The messages are seductive precisely because they are intuitively highly responsive to the yearning within the human soul at that time.

Thus, we parents witness horrified as our young children suddenly become obsessed with the latest gimic – such as randomly colored, senseless little rubber trash monsters. If all the kids are with these seductive trash monsters, then your child’s ticket to group existence is found in her acquiring a whole collection in her own right. And we run for our children – to ensure they will not meet our own inner fears of rejection. If Tommy hasn’t got one – or a lot of them – he could be rejected from the group.

In fact, Tommy needs to have more trash monsters than anyone else. He knows it. We know it too.  The shops are sold out of trash monsters and we go into a kind of desperation. Never mind the homework, where’s the trash monster?

The beauty and danger of collective consciousness

At its best, group consciousness is a liberated, evolving collective identity, enlivened by a contribution of individual qualities from members and held in form by structures that support a shared process of evolution.

Yet because consciousness is so closely linked to power, authority, pain-based ego structures and to the creation of reality through projection, group consciousness needs to be nurtured with great care and responsibility.

It would be good if we could strive for the degree of conscious liberation which means that although we are part of the shared consciousness of our country, culture, family or school, we are nevertheless deeply and individually responsible for its direction – even if this means leaving the field or rejecting ourselves. Competition is a healthy part of evolution, but it needs to be liberated as a developmental playground, held lovingly within the deeper unity and ethics of the human heart.

Collective consciousness is nothing more than the sum of its individual parts when they move in agreement. Its direction can be greatly determined by the loudest voice and the strongest need. As such, the direction can suddenly become destructive – motivated by a flight from suffering rather than attraction towards a shared vision of creating a better world. The more a field of collective consciousness defines itself in competition with others, the more destructive its direction is likely to become.

It is a great irony that a wonderful spiritual teacher, bringing forward a message of liberation from the suffering of identification with the thinking mind and untended emotional patterns, can suddenly find himself in a complex global web in which he is a slave to group consciousness often directed and motivated by the incentive of profit. The more effectively he teaches the liberation from ego, the more he finds himself fortressed in an egoic form of a scale beyond his worst nightmares. He loses his freedom, and risks his authenticity. His followers, once awakened, seem to collapse into disempowerment and rivalry, using and abusing the teacher’s image as the authority, moving through a mutually dependent group entanglement of wants and needs which in the collective field can become quite a trash monster.

This is one of the greater challenges faced by world teachers, the challenge to their personal human freedom to live as they need. Yet bravely, they continue. Because the will at the basis of humanity to evolve and improve our collective state is a deeper imperative overriding fear of Self, be it a small Self or a global one. Yet it is never, never who they really are, or who we really are.

It is important to remember that these same challenges face us all when we choose to expand our consciousness, it is just a question of scale.

In the choice to develop consciousness, we make a choice for greater power, an increasing ability to impact our direction, and a deeper responsibility for the experience.

We will always share our consciousness with others like an overflowing cup. We anyway live in structures of group consciousness. The stronger we are in our consciousness, the greater our responsibility, whether it is within a relationship, a family or a high-tech industry. To take responsibility means to be present as much as possible: to develop an ability to respond and to become responsive to the needs of the now. To not take responsibility can mean we leave an abyss where demons created by jealousy, fear, rage and genocide can reign.

Loved beyond beloving, beauty

rises in mists of prayer;

yearning the fullness in your becoming

free from treachery, despair,

Yes.

Even free from me.

Let me fall beneath you, light,

caressing you out of yourself

that you might rise.

Releasing every cell and hair

and accent rejoicing mirror of form

to wider bliss and wiser still;

alive in unbecoming robes

so naked, let me wait…

taste breath of eternity

in ecstatic suspension

beside you, in Eden

until sun coming golden signs

the way to earth.

D(R)EAD

From an unanchored shadow

over there, under a tree in the school-yard

caught lurking in the corner of an eye

I heard it said

that you want me dead.

Always one to comply,

your prize will be delivered,

this day, or another,

my body a fool’s gold

to fill an eternal void.

Yet the light whispering on wet leaves told

that you yourself died long ago

deep inside, it has long been lame and cold,

unnoticed even in passing

and tragically unmourned.

When did it happen, that secret death?

Was I away with the kids?

Or too lost in love of being

to see that you had gone?

A death like no mortal course –

a rupture of soul from source

of word from meaning

of man from feeling

as the void empties spaces

where other humans live.

Leaving a body that stalks the courts

repeating words spieled out

long ago in random sequence

squealing vengeance at life itself.

Behind every collapse of trust are the roots of self-betrayal.

We betray ourselves when we break the sacred promise of our incarnation by refusing to express our blessings.

In a fear of physical life, we try to fixate our experience by clinging to ideas of what we want to exist – in stead of what is there in the moment.

How can we lose anything that has never been truly ours?

Why is is that when we have been deeply forsaken, we carry a feeling of guilt as if the crime were ours?

To move through the fear of betrayal is to unmask the inner traitor of light.

In this, a door to freedom opens – the freedom to exist beyond our former limits as a creative source of human expression.

After you have accessed Eden, yet you will still face the same issues of physical life – all that stuff which is on your plate including your own physical body, and its demise and death.

In accessing eternal life, you still be miserably mortal.

If you are lucky you will die, over and over, moment by moment.

But the fear will be weaker, and the unconditional love strong.

When the inner doors to Eden are opened, the “and-and”- the great task of integration – begins.

In this, we truly begin our mission as humans – to bring heaven to earth and earth to heaven – letting the blissful light of the universe kiss and awaken every dead, abandoned, infertile and frozen part of who we are.

When the doors to Eden are opened, the real work begins – the work integration, transformation and creation – as we take up the luggage of this and other lives and continue on our way,  both in and out of Eden, moment by moment.

I stand near the ocean where builders are free

based on thoughts of you, this rhythm, the sea
and the quietest dripping within, like ice-bergs
softly melting or juttings of rock eroding
as anger submits to sprays of fear
and old storms leave
sea-face still as a mirror,
and undercurrents of love and grief
follow mystery of this moon
that lets cooler light fall
through difference in one soul
and the next…
as various as these shells
whole and broken,
heaped in wandering lines
by the tides.

knowing these sapphire depths
unasking
divide in rivers and deltas
and raindrops and
steam of passionate loss
and tears falling again
so fertile,

as gentle waves like mothers’ hands
wash sand from aching feet
whose footprints traced your ways.

And I feel you playing
with these little toes,
always curled within themselves-
and after birth
when they were just a longing
to belong, you counted
each one to see that there were ten.

When you bless the space between yourself and those round you,  a deeper gift of unity will emerge.
